How it came to be

I began my love of construction by hauling out drywall out of the many houses my father fixed up for us. Later in my teenage years I had a summer job of framing houses in the mountains of Colorado and was hired to demo rotten decks. I learned you to efficiently take things apart and with a great crash. After all what good is being a teenager on your own in the mountains without destroying something.

Later in life I had the fortunate opportunity of doing every trade in the business from excavation, foundation, all the way up to the roof and everything in and out.

Sextant Designs came about after a failed attempt at a high end menswear line. I brought in elements of construction, sailing, motorcycles, and all things I loved. The clothing line fizzled out as I spent more and more time building in order to raise money to design more clothes. Years later I had realized it was creating that I loved. Construction is the only job that I get to look at in real time and see a physical manifestation of my hands, hard at work.

Here I am 22 years later…obsessed with getting better at what I do.
